HOW TO CLEAN COMMERCIAL FLAT TOP GRIDDLE?
Today, in many restaurants and cafés, there are so-called, ""flat top griddles."" A flat top griddle is a large metal plate (stainless steel or cast iron) that use electricity or gas to heat it up. Nowadays, it’s easy to find a large range of flat top griddles of different sizes in stores, so it can be used at home or in any restaurant or cafe.
Such equipment gives an opportunity to make different kinds of food. Some people use it to cook hamburgers, vegetables, and other purposes including shallow frying, sautéing, heating.

There are a few ways to clean your equipment. We are going to go through two of them: with special cleaner and without it.
The first way is easier and more effective but is not food safe. For this reason, it’s very important to make a right choice while buying a cleaner. Using a special cleaner, you need to take 3 steps to clean your flat top griddle:
Step 1. Pour a cleaner on the surface of the griddle.
Step 2. Scour it with slightly pressure using a rug or sponge.
Step 3. Carefully wipe all cleaner from the griddle.
If you don’t want to clean you griddle with special cleaner, we recommend follow the instruction below. This method is absolutely safe and effective, but quite longer than the one discussed above.

Step 1. Heat your griddle up. While it’s hot, remove any excess grease using a spatula.
Step 2. Unplug your griddle and pour warm water on its surface to start boiling off the grease buildup. Be careful not to get burned by hot steam.
Step 3. Take a soft rag and dip it in warm-hot soapy water, gently scrub it down. Cover the griddle surface with the rag and let it sit around half an hour. Let the soap loosen the grease.
Step 4. Carefully wipe all remaining grease. Take a new rag and rinse and wipe clean.
You can choose any of these ways to clean your flat top griddle. If you use the first way make sure that the cleaner you buy is food safe.
